In the Sea of Dreams is a deep, rotating current that generates tides in the psychic as well as physical realms. It’s known as the Brock-Calvert Gyre, named after the Grand Admiral of the Hawkfleet, Dave Brock, and Captain of the Hawkwind, Robert Calvert.

On one of Hawkwind’s early dimension jumps, the ship was trapped in a two-dimensional version of the Earth’s moon. Brock and Calvert created a hallucinatory sea of dreams that added an infinite number of dimensions to reality. Thus, ensuring the escape of Hawkwind and the release of numinous tides that continue to impel sentient life-forms towards mystical states.

It is not known how much influence the Brock-Calvert Gyre has upon the other Lunar Seas, but its impact is expected to be both subtle and massive.
